Neil Shortell, a 6-3, 245 pound tight end at Butler County (Kansas) Community College last year, has given UConn an oral commitment. Shortell played with quarterback and JUCO Honorable Mention All-American quarterback Chandler Whitmer at the same school. Whitmer has also committed to the Huskies and started classes in Storrs earlier this month.
